If you are interested in joining our group, please send Earle a brief email with your CV and a summary of your research interests. We welcome inquiries from individuals with a strong quantitative background and an interest in ocean and climate dynamics. Please review our lab guide, which outlines general expectations and guidelines for participating in our group.

The ESS admissions page has more information about our department's graduate program and admission process. The graduate program application deadline is early December, and application fee waivers exist for eligible applicants. Our School's DEI office also provides a helpful guide for prospective graduate students.

While not required, prospective Ph.D. students and postdocs are encouraged to explore external funding opportunities. A non-comprehensive list of potentially applicable fellowships is provided below. Applications are typically open from late summer through early winter. Please review the respective fellowship websites for further details.
